Welcome to Dr Gloria Horsley’s site.

Dr. Gloria Horsley has worked in the field of family therapy for twenty-two years. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Rochester, Syracuse, Greenwich and Holos Universities. She has served on the faculty of the University of Rochester School of Nursing and has trained and practiced with the leaders in the field of family therapy. Her early research involved Hospice and AIDS therapy.

She has authored articles on her work and has written several books including; The In-Law Survival Manual: Cultivating Healthy In-law Relationships, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., New York, 1997; and In-laws: A Guide to Extended-Family Therapy, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., New York, 1996. Dr. Horsley has been on a number of television and radio shows including "The Today Show". She is currently co-authoring a book on teen loss and doing research in New York City with the 9/11 FDNY/Columbia University Family Assessment and Guidance Program.

A weekly web-radio series at www.Health.VoiceAmerica.com featuring Dr. Gloria Horsley, TCF’s Professional Advisor, is currently being broadcast every Thursday.

Originally scheduled for 13 weeks, the popular series has been extended to 26 weeks and is dedicated to The Compassionate Friends. It keys on issues of importance to families that have experienced the death of a child.

Shows cover such topics as: A Child Dies--What to Expect and How Long Does it Take?; Grief in the Workplace; Where Does Sadness End and Depression Begin After the Death of a Child?; Faith, Brokenness, and Healing After the Death of a Child.

These hour-long shows, broadcast live at 9 a.m. Pacific (noon Eastern time) on Thursdays, feature experts in the bereavement field and your phone calls and questions are welcome during the live broadcasts. The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive.

The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees.
